Position:Academic Coach for 21st Century Program

Supervisor:Site Coordinator


Status:Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Seasonal (approx. 15-18 hours weekly)

Wage:$13.00 – $15.53/hr DOQ/DOE

General Description:

Under the supervision of the 21st Century Site Coordinator, the Academic Coach is responsible for providing direct educational assistance to participants in the 21st Century Program in a safe, supportive learning environment. Academic Coaches will also engage in high-yield learning activities that reinforce classroom concepts and Common Core Standards.


  • AA / BA Preferred
  • Experience working with youth
  • Possess the ability to remain poised, positive, and energetic in a busy work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, partners, parents, and community
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Preference of candidates with familiarity and training in YPQA/I
  • Preference of Bilingual/literate candidates
  • Preference is given to current Concrete School District Staff and Faculty

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide specific and customized educational assistance to participants
  • Provide a safe environment for all participants, staff, partners, and families
  • Plan and implement high-yield learning activities reinforcing classroom concepts and Common Core Standards
  • Document and report on implementation efforts, with a high degree of detail and sensitivity
  • Assist in creating a learning environment celebrating discovery and achievement
  • Collaborate with community agencies and partners in providing educational enrichment to participants
  • Report any academic advancement limitations immediately
  • Request all supplies, materials, and support in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized working environment
  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
