Hours: 20-29 Hours Weekly

General Description:
Under the supervision of the 21st Century Site Coordinator, the YDP II – Program Specialist is responsible for providing quality evidence-based and/or curriculum-centered programming to participants in grades K-8 through the 21st Century Program in a safe, supportive, experiential learning environment. The YDP II – Program Specialist will primarily focus their specific efforts in one of three outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, or Good Character & Citizenship. Program Specialists may work at more than one site location.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma minimum, AA preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with youth
- Possess the ability to remain poised, positive, and energetic in a busy work environment
- Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, partners, parents, and community
- Excellent organizational skills
- Preference of candidates with Lego Robotics/Digital Photography/Fine & Performing Arts/other specialized abilities and experience
- Preference of candidates with familiarity and training in YPQA/I
- Preference for Bilingual/literate candidates
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and implement programs and activities that are long-term based, supported by established curricula, and that provide specific enrichment opportunities that support desired outcomes
- Provide a safe environment for all participants, staff, partners, and families
- Document and report on implementation efforts, with a high degree of detail and sensitivity
- Assist in creating a learning environment celebrating discovery and achievement
- Collaborate with community agencies and partners in providing educational enrichment to participants
- Report any academic advancement limitations immediately
- Request all supplies, materials, and support in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, well-organized working environment
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
